Renato Castoldi
Biography
Dr. Renato Castoldi is a general surgeon and pancreatic surgeon in the Department of Pancreatic Surgery at the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, headed by Professor Massimo Falconi.
In 1984, he graduated from the University of Milan with a degree in Medicine and Surgery, and five years later received a specialization in general surgery at the same institute. In 1994, he received a second specialization in vascular surgery and angiology, again at the University of Milan. During his studies, Dr. Castoldi spends various periods of study abroad at: Grosshadern Krankenhaus in Munich in Germany, Università del Winsconsin (USA), Ospedale Paul Brousse in Paris and Institut Mutualiste de Mountsouris in Paris. In 2015, he became head of the Operative Department of Surgery at Ospedale di Magenta, and from 2016 to the present day, he has held a senior position in the Department of Pancreatic Surgery at the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele.
He has attended about 4,000 surgeries, mostly by major surgeons with experience in laparoscopic surgery of the pancreas and gastrointestinal tract.
