Riccardo Accetta
Biography
Professor Accetta is a contract professor at the School of Specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the University of Milan and the Head of the Traumatology Unit at IRCCS Galeazzi-Sant’Ambrogio Hospital. He also collaborates with Casa di Cura La Madonnina.
After graduating from the University of Milan in 1979 with a degree in Medicine and Surgery, in 1984 he again received a specialization in orthopedics and traumatology at the same university.
His work experience:
- From 1983 to 1989 – Full-time assistant at the Clinica Ortopedica of the University of Milan at the Ospedale San Paolo in Milan;
- From 1989 to 1999 – Full-time assistant at the Clinica Ortopedica of the University of Milan at Ospedale San Paolo;
- From 2000 to 2003 – Level I Manager in the Department of Knee Operative Surgery II at the IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi in Milan;
- From 2004 to 2006 – Head of the Department of Operative Traumatology DiPSON IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi;
- Since 2006 – he has been the head of U. O. Traumatology and emergency care at the IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi-Sant’Ambrogio (ex IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi).
Regarding his teaching activities, Professor Riccardo Accetta taught Orthopedics and Traumatology at the National Cancer Institute in Milan (1980-1982) and at the Italian Red Cross Nursing School (1980-1985). He was a contract professor at the University of Milan in the postgraduate internal medicine course (1995-1997). He served as a mentor for professional qualification practices in the 2006-2010 academic years and as an adjunct professor in the medical-surgical emergency care course at the University of Milan (2010-2012). Since 2006, he has been a mentor for orthopedic and traumatology residents at the University of Milan.
He has over 26 publications in renowned national and international journals and has been a speaker at numerous national and international congresses in orthopedics and traumatology.
