Stefano Guarino
Biography
Dr. Stefano Guarino is an orthopedic surgeon in the Department of Joint Replacement and Orthopedic Surgery (CASCO) of the IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi – Sant’Ambrogio.
In 2003, he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Naples Federico II, where he also received a specialization in orthopedics and traumatology in 2010.
From October 2007 to January 2010, he attended the comprehensive orthotraumatology and emergency department of the Ospedale di Rilevanza Nazionale A. Cardarelli of Naples.
In 2009, he visited the Department of Hip and Knee Prosthetics of the Istituto Clinico Humanitas in Rozzano.
Since 2010, he has been the Director of Medical and Orthopedic Surgery of the CASCO Operating Department, and since 2018 – a knee surgery assistant at the Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi.
Dr. Guarino specializes in hip and knee prosthetics and arthroscopic surgery.
For hip surgery, he treats:
- arthrosis,
- necrosis,
- dysplasia,
- fracture results,
- outcomes of epiphyseolysis,
- femoral-acetabular conflict.
He also uses minimally invasive techniques (Tissue Sparing Surgery) and implants to preserve the neck. Practices septic and aseptic revisions of prostheses.
In knee joint surgery uses single-arterial (medial and lateral), femoropatellal and total prostheses. Also in these cases, he practices septic and aseptic revisions of prostheses.
In the field of arthroscopic knee surgery, he treats ligament and meniscus injuries.
He has over 2,000 major and minor orthopedic surgeries under his belt as first and second surgeon.
He is the author of a number of publications and reports presented at national conferences and congresses.
Participated in numerous courses and conferences, including as a speaker on the topic of knee and hip joint prosthetics.
