Vincenzo Ardita
Biography
Dr. Vincenzo Ardita is a vascular surgeon at the Vascular Surgery Department at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, directed by Professor Roberto Chiesa, Professor and Academic Tutor at the Vascular Surgery Residency Program at Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele.
He graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Catania in 2010 and specialized in Vascular Surgery at the University of Catania in 2016. During his training, he attended the San Filippo Neri Hospital in Rome, where he refined his skills in open, endovascular, and hybrid techniques for abdominal and thoraco-abdominal aortic pathologies, as well as endovascular techniques for carotid artery and peripheral obstructive arterial disease.
He has completed the final examination for a PhD in "Surgical Sciences" at the University of Bologna. Additionally, he is a Professor and Academic Tutor at the Vascular Surgery Residency Program at Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele.
He is author and co-author of numerous scientific publications in international journals. He is a Co-Investigator in scientific studies on aortic pathology and peripheral vascular disease.
Dr. Vincenzo Ardita's clinical and research activities focus on:
- Endovascular treatment of abdominal aortic pathology, descending thoracic aorta, and thoraco-abdominal aorta.
- Treatment of extracranial carotid lesions using open or endovascular techniques.
- Minimally invasive endovascular treatment of peripheral obstructive disease.
- Treatment of superficial venous pathology with surgical techniques, minimally invasive endovascular ablative techniques (radiofrequency ablation, mechanochemical ablation, sclerotherapy), and treatment of deep venous system pathology: treatment of acute venous thrombosis with thrombectomy and complex reconstructions, treatment of chronic thrombosis via endovascular recanalizations and stenting, compressive syndromes (May-Thurner syndrome, Nutcracker syndrome).
He has performed numerous surgical procedures as the primary operator and assistant. He also addresses the aesthetic and functional treatment of lower limb telangiectasias with sclerotherapy.
