Biography

Dr. Yuri Matteo Falzone is a neurologist at the Neurology Unit of the IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital in Milan.

He earned his medical degree in 2013 from the University of Pavia, specialized in Neurology at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in 2019, and completed an international PhD in Molecular Medicine in 2023.

Dr. Falzone is specialized in the outpatient, inpatient, and Day Hospital management of neuromuscular diseases, including:

  • Myasthenia Gravis (MG), with the use of innovative biological therapies
  • Motor Neuron Diseases, including Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
  • Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP), with the use of innovative biological therapies
  • Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS)
  • Multifocal Motor Neuropathy (MMN) and anti-MAG neuropathy
  • Genetic Neuropathies, including Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT)
  • Myopathies, both acquired and genetic

Dr. Falzone has also participated in clinical studies and trials for these conditions, contributing to the experimentation and implementation of new therapies.

With over 50 publications in prestigious scientific journals and an H-index of 18, Dr. Falzone has led several research projects, including:

  • The study and identification of new biomarkers for the diagnosis and prognosis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), helping to improve diagnostic accuracy and disease management.
  • Research to better understand the pathogenesis of Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP) and Myasthenia Gravis (MG), as well as the development of advanced monitoring mechanisms for these conditions.
