Mole Mapping
What is it?
The nevi mapping (in this case intended as computerized digital vidoedermatoscopy) is a non-invasive method that allows to observe the skin and store the acquired digital images and/or enlarge them in order to better evaluate them.
When is this exam indicated?
Nevi mapping is indicated for all patients, particularly those having a high number of nevi and/or have nevi that merit periodic videodermatoscopic monitoring.
How is it performed?
The patient is examined from head to foot and in the 4 sides first through the use of a manual dermatoscope, then some of the nevi to be treated are photographed at high magnification in order to better evaluate them and the images are recorded in order to make a comparison over time.
