Bruno Colombo
Biography
Dr. Bruno Colombo is the coordinator of the Neurological Department of the Center for Headache and Facial Pain in the Department of the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, which is headed by Professor Professor Massimo Filippi.
Dr. Colombo also teaches at the School of Neurology Specialization and at the English-language medical course at Vita-Salute University.
In 1983, she received a degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Milan, where she specialized in neurology in 1987. Later she works at the National Hospital for Nervous Diseases in London and at San Bartholomew's College, at the Department of Biochemistry in London. He returned to Italy in 1989 to the Ospedale di San Donato and since 1990 to the Ospedale San Raffael in Milan.
Dr. Colombo has always dealt with pathologies with high disability (multiple sclerosis and headaches) in both epidemiological and pharmacological studies, as well as in the field of neuroimaging. He has participated in numerous clinical trials of new drugs for migraine and multiple sclerosis. Performs outpatient polyclinic activities in the field of inflammatory pathologies of the nervous system and headaches.
His area of interest concerns the quality of life of patients (fatigue, pain and balance disorders), the use of neuroimaging to study the pathophysiological mechanisms of migraine and multiple sclerosis, the use of new drugs to limit the impact of diseases on the biopsychosocial function of patients.
From a research point of view, he participates in neuroimaging studies of the pathogenetic mechanisms of migraine and fatigue; as well as clinical and instrumental studies of vestibular migraine and epidemiological studies of migraine.
He is also the founder of the Italian Neurological Association for Headache Research and the Italian Headache Foundation, and is also a member of the company's board of directors.
He is the author and co-author of more than 150 publications in national and international scientific journals. Her Hirsch index is 45.
