Carlo De Vincentiis
Biography
Dr. Carlo De Vincentiis is the Head of the Department of Adult Cardiac Surgery at the Policlinico San Donato Clinical Institute in Milan.
In 1989, he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Naples. The following year, he received the Ettore Ruggeri Fellowship from the Italian Society of Surgery, and in 1994, he specialized in cardiac surgery again at the University of Naples.
In 2002, he received the right to practice thoracic surgery from the National Committee of the Medical Association Française, after ten years at the Chirurgie Cardiovasculaire et Thoracique department at the Hopital Cardiologique Haut Leveque hospital in Bordeaux (France).
Since 1999 he has been working at the Policlinico San Donato Clinical Research Institute and has been dealing with the treatment of acquired cardiovascular diseases in adults, with a particular interest in the treatment of chronic and acute aortic diseases (patients with bicuspid aortic valve, Marfan syndrome, aneurysm and / or aortic dissection), pathologies of heart valves (with surgical interventions for plastic and / or replacement), as well as surgery of the coronary vessels and heart failure.
He is active in research, is a member of numerous working groups, mainly at the international level.
He is a co-investigator in:
• International Registry of Acute Aortic Dissection (IRAD)
• International Bicuspid Aortic Valve Consortium (BAVcon)
• International Aortic Arch Surgery Study Group (IAASSGG).
He is a member of the Italian Society of Cardiac Surgery and European Association for Cardiothoracic Surgery (EACTS).
