In 1992 she received the degree of Doctor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Milan, where in 1998 she received a specialization in endocrinology and metabolic disorders. She continues her studies by attending doctoral studies in clinical biochemistry and clinical molecular biology at the same university.
From January 1994 to April 1995 she attended a specialization course in Molecular Biology at the research laboratory directed by Professor Roberto Di Lauro, Stazione Zoologica Anton Dorhn, Naples.
Her main areas of interest are:
- Clinical field: endocrinology (thyroid pathology - hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodules, thyroid pathology during pregnancy, polycystic ovaries, hormonal imbalance in menopause, osteopenia and osteoporosis), dietetics in obesity (preparation of personalized diets and ketogenic diet) and performing bioimpedance analysis to assess body composition.
- Diagnostic area: Ultrasound of the thyroid gland and parathyroid gland and echocolordoppler of the thyroid gland.
- Field of research: fundamental research with knowledge of various methods of molecular biology for the analysis of DNA, RNA and proteins. Clinical research with scientific skills of coordination, design, implementation and compilation of clinical diagnostic protocols.
From 1997 to 2004 she was a member of the "Highlights Group" of the European Journal of Endocrinology. Currently a full member of the Italian Society of Endocrinology (SIE), the Association of Endocrinologists (AME) and the Italian Society of Obesity Surgery (SICOB).
