Gabriele Thiebat
Biography
Dr. Gabriele Thiebat is an orthopedic physician at the Sport Trauma and Research Center of the Istituto Clinico San Siro.
He is an accredited RE.GA.IN. physician at the IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi – Sant’Ambrogio. Dr. Thiebat also works at Casa di Cura la Madonnina and serves as a sports trauma consultant for the Trauma Unit of the Ospedale Galeazzi – Sant’Ambrogio, led by Dr. Accetta.
In 2005, he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Milan. Subsequently, he qualified as a surgeon in the registry of the Order of Surgeons and Dentists of the Aosta Valley.
In 2010, he received a specialization in orthopedics and Traumatology at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Milan with the highest score.
In 2005, he started working as a doctor at the Sports Traumatology Center, which was headed by Dr. Herbert Schoenhuber. Thiebat got the opportunity to continue his studies by defending his dissertation and completing a course of study that allowed him to specialize in orthopedics in 2010.
In 2014, he received a Master's degree of the 1st level in biomechanics, pathology and therapeutic treatment of the upper limb with honors from the ALMA Mater of the University of Bologna.
The interest in traumatic joint pathologies and sports leads Dr. Thiebat to gain diverse work experience in the field of professional sports:
- since 2010 he has been a member of the national ski and snowboard teams,
- Since 2011, he has been a member of the Medical Commission of FISI (Italian Winter Sports Federation) and medical director of the Italian national snowboard and freestyle teams, with whom he participated in the Winter Olympics in Sochi in 2014 and Pyeongchang in 2018,
- From 2012 to 2018, he held the position of social doctor of AC Milan, being a consultant and head of the youth sector.
Dr. Thiebat works at Istituto Clinico San Siro and Casa di Cura la Madonnina, where he treats congenital pathologies of sports traumatology, paying special attention to pathologies of the knee, shoulder and ankle joints, as well as general traumatological pathology characteristic of sports.
He is a speaker at numerous national and international specialist conferences, he is an associate member of the Italian Sports Medical Federation. He is the author and co-author of numerous publications in national and international scientific journals and is currently the scientific head of the Sport Trauma and Research Center team.
