Giovanni Landoni
Biography
Professor Giovanni Landoni is the Director of the Anesthesia and Intensive Care Research Center of the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele. He is also an adjunct professor at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan.
After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Milan in 1996, in 2000 he specialized in anesthesiology and intensive care at the same university. For three years he worked and conducted research abroad (USA, Spain, Holland, India, Uganda).
Professor Landoni mainly deals with general anesthesia and patient management in the intensive care unit headed by Professor Alberto Zangrillo.
As a researcher, he is an expert in reducing perioperative morbidity and mortality, as well as organ damage. He is also interested in the introduction of innovative intensive treatment methods to support vital functions (cardiovascular and respiratory systems) and innovations in the field of critical medicine
He is the author and co-author of more than 400 scientific articles published in prestigious industry journals. His Hirsch index is 48 (Scopus) and 61 (Scholar). He constantly participates as a speaker at national and international congresses and conferences.
