Luca Maria Sconfienza
Biography
Professor Luca Maria Sconfienza is the Head of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at the Ospedale Galeazzi-Sant’Ambrogio and the Ordinary Professor of Diagnostic Imaging and Radiotherapy at the University of Milan.
He graduated in 2004 from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Genoa, four years later he specialized in radiodiagnostics there and in 2012 he received his PhD in Internal Medicine, Autoimmunity and Digestive System Diseases.
He specializes in musculoskeletal radiology, with a particular focus on Diagnostic and Interventional Ultrasound. He is the author of 284 publications and has 4352 citations.
Professor Luca Maria Sconfienza collaborates with the Euro AIM working group on evidence-based radiology of the European Institute for Biomedical Imaging Research (EIBIR), a branch of the European Society of Radiology (ESR). He was the member of the scientific committee of the European Congress of Radiology (2013-2015), of the national congress organised by the Radiology Society of North America (RSNA 2015-2021) and member of the Public Information Advisor Network.
He was the Chairman of the Research Committee (2013-2016) and of the Ultrasound Subcommittee (2016-2018) of the European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology (ESSR), where he holds the position of Secretary General until the end of 2021.
