Lucia Oriella Piccioni

Dr. Lucia Oriella Piccioni is an Otorhinolaryngologist at the Otorhinolaryngology Unit of IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital, led by Professor Mario Bussi.

In 1994, she graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Brescia, where she later specialized in Otorhinolaryngology in 1998. In 2011, she obtained a Level II Master's degree in Auditory Prosthetic Implantology from La Sapienza University of Rome, where she also completed an Advanced Course in Open Septorhinoplasty in 2015.

Dr. Piccioni handles all head and neck pathology and surgery, both inflammatory and oncological. In recent years, she has focused her interests on otologic pathology and surgery, salivary gland surgery, and aesthetic/reconstructive surgery of the nose and ears.

Since 2020, she has been the Head of the Ear Functional Unit, which offers solutions for deafness using modern technology in the fields of traditional hearing aids, implantable prostheses, and cochlear implants.

She is a Tutor in Otorhinolaryngology as part of the Integrated Surgery Course for fourth-year students of the Medical and Surgical Degree Program and a Contract Professor at the Otorhinolaryngology Specialty School of Vita-Salute San Raffaele University.

Dr. Piccioni is a member of the Italian Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Cervicofacial Surgery, AICEF (Italian Association of Functional Aesthetic Surgery of the Face), SILPS (Italian Society for the Study and Treatment of Cleft Lip and Palate), and the Otology Academy. She is the author and co-author of numerous publications and regularly participates in national and international conferences in her field.
