Maurizio Colecchia
Biography
Prof. Maurizio Colecchia is a Director Unit of Uropathology at the Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori di Milano, Professor of Anatomic Pathology at Course of Residence in Pathology at the Universita’ dell’ Insubria di Varese (2004-2010) and Associate Professor at the University Vita-Salute San Raffaele (2021).
The scientific activity is documented in more than 200 printed publications in books and journals, both Italian and international (150 original articles addressing issues of soft tissue and urological pathology). Editor of “Pathology of Testicular and Penile Neoplasms”, Springer International Publishing, Basel 2016 [ISBN978-3-319-276151].
His research focuses on themes of applied pathology, approached in close collaboration with the clinician, backed up by appropriate epidemiological support, not neglecting the traditional diagnostic framework as the basis of a modern, gauged characterisation of pathological settings. Over 20000 surgical urologic specimens signed-out most of them related to prostate and testicular pathology.

He is member of the Editorial Board of Pathologica and expert contributor to the WHO Classification of Genitourinary Tumors, 5th edition.
