Rosa Alessia Battista

Dr. Battista is an otolaryngologist at the Otolaryngology Unit of the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, under the direction of Professor Mario Bussi.

After graduating in Medicine and Surgery from the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan in 2016, she completed her specialization in Otolaryngology in December 2021 at the same university. In January of the same year, she began a Ph.D. program in Molecular Medicine offered by the university, which is still ongoing.

In 2019, she also completed a clinical internship at the Head and Neck Department of Stanford University School of Medicine, where she engaged in fruitful research collaborations.

Dr. Battista's clinical and surgical work focuses on:

• Ear, hearing, and otologic surgery
• Functional and aesthetic nasal and paranasal sinus surgery
• Benign and malignant pathologies of the head and neck area

She actively participates in multidisciplinary otoneurological meetings and the oncological Tumor Board of the Otolaryngology Unit.

In terms of research, during her Ph.D. program in Molecular Medicine at UniSR, Dr. Battista is primarily involved in clinical and translational research in the fields of head and neck oncology, facial plastic surgery, and ear pathology and surgery.

She serves as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator in multiple clinical research projects within her areas of interest.

In the realm of medical education, Dr. Battista is a contract lecturer for undergraduate courses in Medicine and Surgery in both Italian and English at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University. She is also part of the teaching staff at the UniSR School of Specialization in Otolaryngology and a tutor for otologic surgical training at the Studium ORL Franco Cocchini association.

She is a member of the Italian Society of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery (SIOChCF), the Young ORL Group of SIOeChCF (GOS), the Italian Association of Aesthetic and Functional Facial Surgery (AICEFF), and the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (EAFPS).

Dr. Battista has authored numerous scientific publications in specialized journals and book chapters and regularly participates in national and international conferences.
