Info
Project Aim
To improve accessibility to quality health services and improve the protection of internally displaced persons, refugees and host communities with special attention to children and adolescents with disabilities and chronic diseases.
Background of the Project
Hevi Pediatric Hospital clinics need an enhancement of the surgical area and laboratory to carry out early analysis on small patients, which will consist of light rehabilitations, furnishings and supplies. An access ramp will also be created to ensure accessibility to people with disabilities on the hospital's ala that provides first aid, pharmacy and outpatient services, currently missing. Drug management is currently very inefficient and requires a reorganisation of spaces. With regard to the situation of the Early Detection of Children Disability Centre (EDCDC) and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Centre (CAMHC) , they require support, with technical assistance and supplies of aids, as well as the activation of territorial teams. The Centres receive patients from hospitals, have long waiting lists and serve many refugees and displaced persons. Quality of both diagnosis and treatment has been enhanced, involving also the Thalassemia Centre.
The project is funded by the Italian Agency for Cooperation and Development (AICS).
