Luigi Agostino Gianolli
Biography
Dr. Luigi Gianolli is the Head of the Department of Nuclear Medicine at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, and he is also the member of the Molecular Imaging Research Unit of the Center for Experimental Imaging Techniques at the same institute.
In 1981, he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Milan, where he further specialized in nuclear medicine. In 2002, he was awarded the qualification of the Head of a complex structure.
He began his career in 1983 as a Fellow in the Department of Diagnostic Imaging and Radio Metabolic Therapy at the Ospedale San Raffaele Clinical Institute and continued in various positions as Associate, Assistant and Site Coordinator at the same institution. Since 2008, he has been the Head of the Nuclear Medicine Department of this institute.
He is the member of numerous scientific and research associations such as the Italian Association of Nuclear Medicine (AIMN) and European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM). From 2008 to 2011, he was the Scientific Director of two projects under the Ministry of Health in the field of nuclear medicine: the technological innovation to optimize diagnostic programs in oncology PET-MRI 3T and the experimental application of new technologies for the production of PET radiopharmaceuticals.
He has more than 133 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals, more than 2800 citations, and his overall Hirsch index is 28 (Scopus).
