Biography

Dr. Giuseppe Vanella is a Gastroenterologist and Endoscopist at the BilioPancreatic Endoscopy and Endoscopic Ultrasound Unit of the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, directed by Professor Paolo Giorgio Arcidiacono.

He graduated with honors in Medicine from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome in 2013, then specialized with honors in Gastroenterology in 2019 at the Sapienza University of Rome. Following his studies, he completed a six-month Fellowship in Interventional Endoscopic Ultrasound and ERCP at the University Hospital of Leuven (Belgium), where he refined advanced techniques in biliopancreatic therapeutic endoscopy.

Dr. Vanella focuses on pancreatic diseases, dedicating a large part of his clinical activity to the endoscopic treatment of these conditions. Specialized in diagnostic and operative endoscopy, he performs Gastroscopies, Colonoscopies, polypectomies, Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatographies, and Therapeutic Endoscopic Ultrasound.

He is a PhD student in Molecular Medicine at Vita Salute San Raffaele University, where he studies the role of endoscopy in the prognostic stratification of pancreatic cancer. He promotes and participates in numerous Italian and international research protocols, with a specific interest in the role of new Therapeutic Endoscopy procedures in improving the treatment of biliopancreatic pathology.

He is a lecturer at the Specialization School in Digestive Diseases at Vita Salute San Raffaele University and a tutor for the Level II Master's in ERCP at the same university.

Author and co-author of more than 60 publications in indexed journals, he actively participates in national and international sector congresses.
