Sara Baleri

Dr. Sara Baleri is a Breast Surgeon at the Breast Surgery Unit of the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, led by Dr. Oreste Davide Gentilini. He also works at Policlinico San Marco.

After graduating in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pavia in 2011, she specialized with honors in General Surgery at the same university in 2019.

During her specialization, Dr. Baleri developed a particular interest in breast pathology, deepening her knowledge in the field of breast surgery at nationally and internationally renowned centers. Her clinical practice is dedicated to the surgical management of malignant and benign breast disease, as well as the management of patients with high genetic risk, working closely with the breast unit team at OSR. She performs both conservative breast surgeries with oncoplastic techniques in collaboration with plastic surgeons and demolitive surgeries (mastectomy) with immediate reconstruction. She also conducts axillary surgery (sentinel node biopsy and axillary dissection) before and after neoadjuvant chemotherapy.

In terms of research, Dr. Baleri focuses on conservative and oncoplastic breast surgery, post-neoadjuvant chemotherapy breast and axillary surgery, sentinel node biopsy, post-mastectomy breast reconstruction with prepectoral implants, and the role of PET-MRI in breast cancer treatment.

She is a co-author of publications in national and international scientific journals and regularly participates in national and international conferences in her field.
