Vascular Surgery

Vascular Surgery professionals deal with diagnostic and therapeutic process of arterial or venous pathologies. Departments of Gruppo San Donato are national reference centers for the surgical and endovascular treatment of aortic pathology (abdominal, thoracic, thoracic-abdominal and of the arch).

Our departments are pioneers in endovascular approach in treatment of aneurysms of the aortic arch and of the thoracoabdominal aorta. With the use of advanced surgical techniques departments provide patients with either traditional open surgery option (bypass, endarterectomy and aneurysmectomy etc.), or minimally invasive endovascular surgery option (angioplasty, stent placement, endoprosthesis, thromboaspiration, embolization, thermal ablation, etc.).

Vascular surgents work closely with Vein Center, an interdisciplinary center of excellence dedicated to treatment of deep and superficial venous system pathologies and oriented towards clinical scientific research. Its focus lays in treatment of various stages of venous insufficiency and venous thrombosis.
