Head and neck cancer
Head and Neck Cancers include several types of cancer affecting the larynx, throat, salivary glands, as well as lips, mouth, and nose.
Within GSD, the oncological, surgical and/or radiotherapy approaches are discussed and decided among a multidisciplinary team, composed not only by oncologists, surgeons and radiotherapists but also by radiologists, pathologists, nuclear doctors, pain therapists, palliativists, nutritionists, internal medicine specialists, endocrinologists, dentists, physiotherapists, geriatrists, psychologists and endocrinologists that cooperate in the management of head and neck cancer patients and meet at least once per week to guarantee the optimal care that influences the quality of life and sociability in addition to the impact on life expectancy.
