Elena Mazza
Biography
Dr. Elena Mazza is a Senior Assistant of the Clinical Oncology Unit at the San Raffaele Research Hospital. Over 20 years’ experience as medical oncology mainly related to gastro-esophageal cancer, in the past also to primary brain tumor, head and neck cancer and lung cancer.
Co-promoter and promoter of national multicentric clinical trials on brain, oesophageal and gastric cancer.
Clinical Trial Experience as co-investigator or Principal investigator in over 50 phase II/III trials on Glioblastoma, SNC cordoma, Low grade glioma, Anaplastic astrocytoma andOesophageal and gastric carcinoma.
Member of American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), Member of European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), Member of Italian Association of Medical Oncology (AIOM), Member of EORTC brain tumour group and gastro-intestinal tumour group.
Translator and author of the START project (STatus of the ART) of ESO (European School of Oncology) for brain tumors. Co-author with Alba Brandes of the book EDU-FAD (Educazione medica continua in oncologia), “Le neoplasie del sistema nervosa centrale”. Ed. 2009.
Co-author of the book “Dionigi – Chirurgia”, chapter “Neoplasie gastriche maligne".
Author or co-author of over 40 full-paper publications in indexed journals and of over 60 abstracts in national and international congresses. Reviewer and discussant of oral presentation at National AIOM meeting.
Speaker of the Italian course “Update course in upper GI cancer surgery” and of the European course “Medical expert training in upper GI surgery” at the Vita-Salute San Raffele University.
