Giuseppe Mazzotta
Biography
Dr. Giuseppe Mazzotta is a vascular surgeon at the Istituto di Cura Città Vascular Surgery Department in Pavia.
In 1994 he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of Pavia University, where in 2000 he received a specialization in vascular surgery.
From July 2000 to February 2015 he worked as a hospital assistant in the Department of Vascular Surgery at the Policlinico San Matteo in Pavia. Since 2003, he has taken responsibility for the outpatient clinic Vulnologia e Piede Diabetico of the same department of the hospital.
Dr. Mazzotta has been involved in ultrasound diagnostics of blood vessels, both arterial and venous, as well as malformations, for about 25 years. He carried out his activities mainly in the outpatient clinics of the Clinica Città in Pavia.
Since February 2015, he has been an assistant in the Department of Vascular Surgery at the Clinica Città in Pavia under the supervision of Dr. Giovanni Bonalumi.
He is currently an assistant in the Department of Vascular Surgery under Dr. Bonalumi at the Istituto di Cura Città in Pavia, in the position of coordinator of hospitalization and vascular and endovascular surgery in the same department.
Engaged in the diagnosis and treatment of arterial pathologies, such as:
- carotid artery stenosis,
- aortic aneurysms,
- peripheral arteriopathies of the upper and lower extremities,
- arteriopathy of visceral vessels.
He deals with the treatment of venous pathologies of essential varicose veins of the lower extremities and congenital malformations such as arteriovenous malformations and rare syndromes, with extensive experience in endovascular surgery.
He has been involved in the development of a protocol for extraperitoneal surgical treatment for locoregional anesthesia of an aneurysm of the abdominal aorta and iliac vessels, together with a team of anesthesiologists.
He is actively involved in the minimally invasive treatment of varicose veins using the most modern methods available, such as radiofrequency and chemo-mechanical ablation.
He has about 500 major operations on arteries and about 700 operations on veins.
