Biography
Dr. Graziano Barera is the Head of the Operative Unit of Neonatology and Neonatal Pathology and Pediatrics at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, and Professor of Neonatology and Neonatal Pathology at the University Vita-Salute San Raffaele.
He graduates in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan, where he obtains specialization in Pediatrics, as well as Neonatology and Neonatal Pathology. In the Operating Unit directed by him, he is responsible for the respiratory, cardiovascular and nutritional management of severely premature infants requiring intensive care. Of particular interest is his activity in the area of gastroenterology and pediatric nutrition.
At IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele Hospital and in collaboration with other operating units and research sections, Dr. Barera is engaged in the activities of Pediatric Endoscopy and the development of innovative laboratory methods for the diagnosis of celiac disease, in the area of all his technical, diagnostic and clinical skills.
He is an author of numerous scientific articles (Impact Factor 197; H index 19) published in national and international journals, such as Archives of Disease in Childhood, American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, The Lancet, American Journal of Gastroenterology, Pediatric Health, Italian Journal of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Journal of Chemotherapy, Italian Journal of Pediatrics, Haematologica – The Hematology Journal and Archive of Disease Childhood Fetal and Neonatal.
He has been a member of the editorial board of SIGENP NEWS, official organ of the Italian Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. In addition, he is a reviewer of the following journals: Gastroenterology, Pediatrics, Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, Pediatria Medica e Chirurgica.
