Jody Filippo Capitanio
Biography
Dr. Jody Filippo Capitanio is a neurosurgeon at the Neurosurgery Department of the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, headed by Professor Pietro Mortini.
After graduating in 2009 from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University of Milan, in 2015 he specialized in neurosurgery at the same university. During his studies, the doctor also spent periods abroad, in particular, at the EOC Ospedale Civico in Lugano - Neurosurgery, as a paramedic and visiting researcher on skull base surgery - at George Washington University, Washington, DC, USA, in 2016.
From a clinical point of view, the doctor is engaged in, in particular:
- cranial surgery,
- spinal surgery,
- stereotactic radiosurgery,
- gamma knife,
- intraoperative ultrasound of the brain,
- rare pathologies.
Dr. Capitanio is engaged in clinical research in various fields of neurosurgery. Special attention is paid to the application of new technologies in the field of neurosurgery.
He is the author and co-author of more than 14 publications in national and international scientific journals and book chapters. His Hirsch index is 4. He constantly participates as a speaker at industry scientific congresses at national and international levels.
