Mario Rampa
Biography
Dr. Mario Rampa is a senologist at the Ospedale and San Raffaele e la Casa di Cura La Madonnina. He is the Medical Director at the Italian League for the Fight Against Cancer (LILT) for the provincial headquarters of Milan, Monza, and Brianza.
In 2005, he graduated with honors from the Medical and Surgical Faculty of the Milan State University of Bicocca; having defended his thesis on the indications and limits of the sentinel lymph node in breast cancer, in 2011 he graduated with honors in specialization in general surgery at the same university.
After that, he completes his studies at the University of Genoa with a Level II Master's Degree in Breast Oncoplasty and Integrated Treatment.
From the very beginning of his career, Dr. Rampa has been engaged in:
- Senology,
- Prevention and treatment of breast cancer,
- Minimally invasive breast cancer surgery,
- Breast oncoplasty,
- Treatment of benign breast pathology.
For many years, he worked as a doctor-senologist in the integrated breast care structure of the Istituto Nazionale Tumori in Milan, dealing with the clinical management of patients suffering from breast cancer and breast surgery, paying special attention to research activities in the field of clinical research on the treatment of breast neoplasms.
In 2013, he participated as a professional volunteer Salute Donna Onlus in the project "Breast Cancer Risk Among Women in Jail."
In addition, since January 2014 he has been the Head of the senology service at the Clinica San Martino in Lecco, and since April 2019 he has been working as a consultant senologist at the Humanitas Castelli Clinic in Bergamo.
From the beginning of his career to the present day, Dr. Rampa has performed over 2,000 surgical and reconstructive surgeries as a surgeon and assistant, collaborating on the advancement of conservative breast cancer surgery and breast oncoplasty.
Consultant senologist for clinical, research and teaching activities of the Italian Cancer League in Milan, Dr. Rampa is also the author and co-author of about 20 publications (PubMed) and has contributed to the development of clinical studies on underarm treatment and robotic radiotherapy as an adjunct to conservative surgery for 5 sessions in a row.
For many years at the IRCCS Istituto Nazionale Tumori in Milan, he has been involved in the coordination of single and multi-center clinical trials, performing all stages from design to clinical application, with a strong ability to organize production processes and offering traditional and innovative medical services.
Since 2019, he has been President of PraeVenus ETS, an association of men and women from the worlds of professions, industry and healthcare. It was founded in March 2019 thanks to the contribution of all the founders with the common goal of spreading a culture of prevention and support for all those women who live or have had breast cancer.
In January 2023, he was appointed Coordinator of the Cancer Prevention Projects for the Italian League for the Fight Against Cancer (LILT) in Milan, Monza, and Brianza. Currently, he serves as Medical Director at the Italian League for the Fight Against Cancer (LILT) for the provincial headquarters of Milan, Monza, and Brianza.
Since March 2023, he has held the position of Scientific Director of the PraeVenus ETS Association, following the conclusion of a four-year term as President.
