Biography

Dr. Pasquale Vergara is a cardiologist-arrhythmologist in the Department of Cardiac Arrhythmology and Electrophysiology of the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele under the supervision of Dr. Paolo della Bella.

After graduating with honors from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Naples Federico II in 2001 and specializing in cardiology in 2005 from the same university, he received his MD in Medical Surgical Physiopathology of the Cardiorespiratory System and Related Biotechnologies from the Second University of Naples.

Clinically, Dr. Vergara is an expert in mapping and interventional treatment of complex arrhythmias. He also coordinates the Athletes' Arrhythmia Center, designed for both professional and amateur athletes. The doctor performs procedures for ablation of atrial fibrillation, paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, and flutter of the left and right atria, ventricular extrasystoles, ventricular tachycardia, and implantation of pacemakers, defibrillators, and CRT. Finally, he performs zero-X-ray procedures (procedures without the use of X-rays) and implants wireless biventricular devices.

As for research activities, it focuses, in particular, on: advanced methods of ventricular tachycardia ablation, predictors of successful catheter ablation, arrhythmias in athletes, arrhythmogenic dysplasia.

Dr. Vergara is also a member of the IVTCC (International Joint Group of the Center for Ablation of the Gastrointestinal Tract) (active) and the Atrial Fibrillation Research Group of the Italian Association of Arrhythmologists.

He is the author of several original scientific articles published in national and international journals and book chapters. His Hirsch Index is 22. He constantly participates as a speaker and moderator at national and international congresses of the industry.
