Piero Giovanni Bruni
Biography
Doctor Piero Giovanni Bruni is a general surgeon at the General Surgery Department, Day & Week Surgery section of the Galeazzi-Sant'Ambrogio Hospital. He also practices at Casa di Cura La Madonnina and at Palazzo della Salute-Wellness Clinic.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 1998, where in 2004, he specialized in General Surgery. Subsequently, at the University of Insubria, he obtained a three-year master's degree in Oncological Surgery in 2007 and completed his Ph.D. in Surgical Biotechnologies in 2018.
Since 2002, he has been involved in humanitarian missions in Africa (Chad, Burundi, Benin). Dr.Bruni is a member of the European Hernia Society and of the International Advisory Board of Hernia/Springer Nature.
He is actively engaged in scientific research and has authored and co-authored numerous publications in various international scientific journals, as well as contributed to textbook chapters on general and hernia surgery. Since 2016, he has been actively involved in the Research and High Specialization Center on Abdominal Wall Hernia Surgery - Milan Hernia Center. His areas of focus, research, and interest encompass a range of abdominal wall pathologies, including hernias and laparoceles, chronic inguinal pains and pubalgia, rectus muscle diastasis, and post-gravidic floppy abdomen.
