Andrea Panzeri
Biography
Dr. Andrea Panzeri is the Head of the Sports Trauma and Research Center Unit at the Istituto Clinico San Siro, a consultant for sports medicine and sports traumatology at the Traumatology Unit of the IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi - Sant’Ambrogio and orthopedic consultant at la Casa di Cura La Madonnina.
After graduating in 1999 in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan, in 2004 he obtained specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the same university and in Sports Medicine later.
Dr. Panzeri deals primarily with:
- arthroscopic surgery, in particular of the knee, on which he also performs prosthetic surgery;
- sports traumatology;
- muscle-tendon pathologies and overuse injury;
- regenerative medicine.
His experience in the sporting field allows him to be part of numerous societies and federations in the field, namely:
- President of the Medical Commission of the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI)
- Member of the Medical Commission of the International Ski Federation (FIS), since 2014
- Member of the Medical Commission of the Italian Water Ski and Wakeboard Federation (FISW)
- Orthopedic consultant of Sassuolo Calcio
During his brilliant professional career, Dr. Panzeri has held the following positions:
- Orthopaedic Consultant of FC Atalanta
- Head Physician for the Italian Winter Sports Federation of the World Championships (St. Moritz in 2003; Bormio in 2005; Are in 2007; Val d'Isere in 2009; Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 2011, Schladming in 2013, Beaver Creek in 2015, St. Moritz in 2017, Are in 2019, Cortina 2021)
- Medical Director for the Italian Winter Sports Federation of the Winter Olympic Games (Turin 2006; Vancouver 2010; Sochi 2014; Pyeongchang 2018, Beijing 2022)
Panzeri is a member of the most important national and international orthopaedic societies.
